![]() It can seem like a hassle to keep your dentures clean, but we're here to give you some tips that will make cleaning easy and hassle free. Start with the Right ToolsBefore brushing your dentures, you need to set up for brushing. Grab a cloth and place it on the edge of your sink to protect the denture in case they slip from your hand. Dentures can be quite fragile, so taking precautions to protect them from breaking is important. Next, you will need to remove your dentures and rinse them with clean water from the tap. Make sure the water is warm, but not hot. Hot water can actually damage your dentures. Finally, you can begin brushing your dentures. Grab a toothbrush specifically made for dentures. Most of these toothbrushes are hard bristled because they are much better at cleaning dentures than soft bristled brushes. When brushing, make sure to only use denture paste. Denture paste is specifically formulated to have the best cleaning properties for dentures. After you brush your dentures, rinse them thoroughly and place them on the cloth or towel you set out earlier. At this point, you have completed cleaning your dentures if this is daytime, but if it is night time, grab a glass and fill it with water so you can use your denture cleaning tablets. Make sure to read the instructions on your tablets before using them. This is the basic routine for cleaning partial dentures. If you have any more questions, give us a call and we can help you.
