What Are Flipper Teeth?

Posted on 11/22/2021 by Olympia Prosthodontics & Cosmetic Dentistry
What Are Flipper Teeth? An unfortunate loss of teeth due to an infection or injury would put anyone in an uncomfortable position. From disrupted eating habits to the eventual loss of your smile, the damage it causes is not the easiest to deal with. However, there are many ways to replace missing teeth and restore normal dental functions. One of these ways is by using flipper teeth. Also called partial dentures, flipper teeth get attached to the top surface of the mouth (palate) or the bottom surface. They come attached with prosthetic or acrylic teeth that replace the missing ones on your gums. Partial or removable dentures are from acrylic dental-grade resin in dental laboratories. During your visit to our offices, we will make a model of your dental structures using a soft material. This model depicts your dental structures' exact size and shape, including spaces resulting from missing teeth. We will then have the model replicated in the dental laboratory.

What Are the Benefits of Flipper Teeth?

Flipper teeth are very convenient in that you can easily slide them in and out of your mouth. You can easily pass by our premises and get your acrylic teeth manufactured as you wait in our lobby. They also dutifully fill the gaps in your gums, providing stability to the adjacent teeth, thus preventing them from growing away from their intended position. All while restoring the look of your natural smile.

How Do You Care for Your Flipper Teeth?

Caring for your flipper teeth might be one of the best habits you can afford. As you do your natural teeth, brush them twice daily using denture toothpaste and lukewarm water to prevent the accumulation of bacteria between the spaces. In order to keep them squeaky clean, it is also advisable to soak them in water overnight and other times in a denture cleaning solution. Book your appointment with us today and have your smile back in no time.
